Psychopaths are made, whereas Psychotics are born; Children Need Good Parenting!

In the Criminal Justice System there are several concepts on how a child grows up without a conscious, and becomes a psychopath. In some cases that psychopath becomes a serial killer.  The Psychotic killer is unorganized and mentally disturbed to the point their beliefs and delusions cause a chaotic crime scene leaving many clues and fingerprints behind, which usually causes a quick apprehension. The Psychopath is organized, intelligent, and cunning,  which helps them avoid arrest in the beginning.  A look at the past is a view into the mind of the present.

In many, but not exclusively, psychopaths are made by cruel or isolating parents. Attachments of control and abuse, whether sexual, mental or physical create a fantasy life in which the child or teen has some control. During the daydreaming or fantasies there can be pornography or other types of addiction that lead to violence or bizarre behavior creating a satisfaction of sorts.  The mind of the killer is challenged to continue the feeling of their acts, in order to maintain the feeling of power or control.

Berkowicz was the shooter of couples in NYC, whose mother abandanoned him, and he was trying to punish her for giving him up. Most serial killers do not attack the person/persons who have hurt them, but find strangers to murder as a way of repaying the pain.
Thanks Chris for a great summary of what I really wanted to say: "Comment from Christofer French : Nothing like hitting the main issue of the age. Our "fatherlessness", broken marriages and dissolving families. It is all such a picture of sadness. I pray for our children. "
A look into the past of serial killers from prison has shown some locked in a basement for days and weeks on end, or an alcoholic or drug addicted parent who isolated them as a child, so the parent could enjoy their addiction.  Some were sexually abused, and fled to fantasies that grew more intense and violent, then began acting out their thoughts.

When you see children growing up in violent and dysfunctional homes that are filled with drugs, alchohol and abuse, then you may be seeing the making of a psychopath. Now, that 's not to say all bad situations create bad children, because many doctors, lawyers, and great citizens have overcome their home life.  However, if the child turns to daydreams and fantasies that are violent, abusive, and addictive, or begins to like certain things in an addictive way that may be the beginning of a life of uncertainity and violence.

Isolation and social disorders are a sign that the person, especially young white men, are suseptable to the evil of murders, sexual assaults, and even the possibility of becoming a serial killer. The average age is 28.5; a point where life is becoming too hard to handle, or the loss of a job trigger a life change.

The following report and the links at the bottom give some insight into what makes a psychopath.  A psychotic is not the same and has an obvious mental condition from birth, illness, or an accident, which is chaotic and they are unable to control their behavior.  A psychopath is able to control, plan, and execute some terrible things without remorse.  Help find out what makes a criminal psychopath and stamp out the abuse of children, which will help control the number of criminal psychopaths who harm others, in order to alleviate the pain that has taken away their ability to feel or identify with the pain of others.

Thanks for such a great perspective on what I was trying to say: I immortalized it in a grey quote in the article...You said in a few sentences what I tried to say in numerous paragraphs...it boils down to those three, and the abuse that is created by the chaos.

This is why America is slipping into all of its regrettable states. I know it's not original and too simplistic.

Truth is almost always overlooked by those abusing it....most real answers are a lot more simple than people think. I agree with you about what is happening to America.

Interesting article, Elle. Neglect, abandonment, abuse, can have such a terrifying impact on a child. Adults can be so wretchedly unaware of their behavior and what it's doing to their children.
