Innie or Outie? I Almost Pulled Up My Shirt To Look; It wasn't About My Navel??

Actually my personality is multifunctional. Yes, that's an odd statement, but I have periods of reclusiveness, and periods of outgoing that urge me to go here or there and meet new people. However, if we are going to label ourselves, then I guess I'm an "Innie" for the purposes of this article. Privacy, quietness, and minding my own business would describe my life at present.
I'm sick of politics, because we are either on their side or we aren't liked anymore. To me, it seems like most people talk to much about nothing, post too much on facebook, and worry about the wrong things. Wisdom is supposed to come with age, but all of them aren't trying to ride that bus.
Writing is a way of expressing oneself about things that matter to us, so many writers are innies. Being invested in one place of quiet writing time is sometimes essential to success. However it takes some 'outness' to be able to enjoy the popularity that comes with writing well. I truly admire the person who can find that balance, and be an 'outie' when the time calls for it. It's like wearing jeans and t shirts in the day time, then adorning a slinky black dress for the opera, and doing both equally well and appearing comfortable in both.
It's a gift to be comfortable on stage, and know the right words to say. Those who are able to fit in at a party and who later can fit in at a museum of antiquities are rare, it requires the ability to transform oneself like a chameleon. Those qualities help the writers who need to speak publicly or sign books at a public forum. Most of us who love to write really do not care for the public part. Oh, we will rise to the occasion if needed, but then we will return to our cocoon.
