My Dream Christmas in Fiction Land, Where Anything Is Possible!

Since I don't have a boss, or any memories from a Boss's Christmas, then I will have to write about a dream Christmas, where there are no back injuries or limitations. No scrimping on money, and no chance of dreams being denied, no worries about calories or cholesterol. The Christmas to trump all Christmas vacations past. The place where anything is possible, and the joy of Christmas reigns; my dream Christmas.
On the first day of Christmas I would catch a train that would lead me across America, and my first stop would the Capital, where I could visit the White House, and all the decorations sent from across our great land to decorate those trees for the holdiays. A few visits to some Memorials along the way.
My second stop would be Phildadelphia and the Liberty Bell, so I could view the city of freedom once again to see how it's grown. I would definately be stopping for lunch at a place with the very best Philly Cheese Steaks, which is one of my favorite foods. A plush night at a great hotel for some good sleep.
Once back on my train to New York City in the early morning of the third day, it's a ride through Manhatten by cab to view all of the decorations, and a stop at the Rockerfeller Center to view the tree. Some great Mocha coffee, and a few shopping adventures. I'd definately need a dip in the indoor pool, before lunch, then enjoy a slice of New York Style Pepperoni Pizza. Late in the evening, I would be attending a great musical show or play, before retiring for the night.
The fourth day would be a train ride to Boston, Mass, where I would get a new pair of boots. The last pair I bought there was a long time ago, but they were great. By now I would hope I had seen some snow, and I would be at the finest seafood restaurant money could by, and enjoy a few crabcakes or fresh fish for dinner. I would take in the sites, and board my train with the sleeping berth for a long winter's night.
By the fifth day I would hopefully be in Colorado, at a great ski resort, where I could spend a great time on the slopes. I'd enjoy some hot drinks and try some new food, and hopefully I wouldn't pass out this time. The only time I ever lost consciousness was in Denver, but I had been in a steam shower on the same day I arrived, and I was not too smart back then. The altitude got me.
The sixth day I would be recuperating from all of the strains of the first five days travel, and I would luxuriate in the ski lodge with all the people I would have met the day before while skiing. After some fellowship and food, I'd be preparing for the seventh day, and getting back to the closest train station for the ride west.
Now, by this time, you are wondering where my husband is, but he is on his dream vacation, which involves fishing....no women wanted or needed. So don't think he is miserable, because he would only be miserable if he were on my dream vacation. So let the man fish, and enjoy his dream Christmas trip.
On the seventh day, I would be headed southwest into Arizona to visit an old New York friend, and maybe take another gander at the Grand Canyon depending on the weather. I would certainly be hanging out with my friends for a day, and she would be glad I had made the trip.
By the eighth day, if the Grand Canyon trip hadn't panned out, then I would be boarding for California. Maybe a run through Los Angeles, and a visit to Hollywood for a day. Some great Mexican food, and hopefully a vist to one of Guy Fieri's recommended restaurants.
By the ninth day I would have recuperated from too much spice, and headed north toward San Francisco via my Amtrack train, with a look at the coast along the way. Maybe some evening seafood on the Wharf, and a night trip up the coast sleeping it off, while the tracks motion me away...to the north.
Once I reach Seattle, Washington I would stop and rest a day. I would take the time to find some family, and visit for awhile, then be on my way. My train is waiting now as day eleven approaches, and I board to return east....it's Minnesota for a day. My Navy friend, and I enjoy some memories of New Orleans and the time we spent over coffee and beignets. Day eleven now spent, I'm on my way.
The last day approaching, number twelve, I wonder if I'll make it where I need to be for Christmas Eve. But time is no problem for me and I decide to fly, and just as evening sun sets; I'm back at home to enjoy my Italian feast on Christmas Eve. The perfect end to a great fantasy trip, without a single partridge in a pear tree. What a Merry Christmas! Enjoy your fantasy, and Happy Holidays.
