Two More Sexually Abused By Sandusky---How Many More!

This scandal just keeps getting worse, and more victims are coming forward. Wednesday, there were two more victims, who came forward, and  one is in an Oklahoma prison. Crime, and personality disorders are consequences of being molested, and it is painful dealing with the trauma, and threats. Molesters usually threaten some type of harm to either a parent or sibling to get cooperation from the child or teen.

One in every six boys, and one in every four girls are the statistics for sexual abuse.  These two men are in addition to the eight victims listed in the Grand Jury Report. The man from Philadelphia is a twenty-nine year old, who is suing both Jerry Sandusky, Penn State, and the Second Mile Organization. The announcement was made Wednesday, before Penn State had their meeting.

Boys are more likely to be sexually abused outside of the home, and girls are more likely to be molested by family, or someone known by the family. Our society has not taken this problem serious enough, and this scandal has shown that men in sports arenas or colleges are not understanding the damage this does to the psyche of a young person. Small children will act out, once sexually abused, and that should raise a red flag at home.

This is just the tip of the iceburg, as molestations are usually multiple and the average child molester touches or abuses an average of over one hundred victims. Many victims do not come forward because they feel shame, or feel they will not be believed. If the person is not known as an abuser, then they are correct about persons in authority, or parents questioning their accusation. As parents, never doubt your child unless you are 100% positive they are lying. How do you know??  Check with a child psychologist who can confirm their being abused, and talk to them yourself asking the hard questions with love.

The Syracuse case is but one of the many cases, that may be offshoots from the Sandusky case. Victims may be able to identify with other victims, and come forward with less hesitation. When they see arrests, and inquiry's into something they felt would not be taken seriously, then they step forward. That's not to say there aren't those just looking for 15 minutes of fame. However, child sex abuse doesn't have many actors, it's a humiliating place for the victim.

Do you have small children, or grandchildren? Watch and see who they avoid, or don't want to be close to. Ask if you are suspicious. If you see a child acting sexual like an adult, or acting hyperactive, when that hasn't been a problem...be sure to find out why.  You do not want to keep a child being abused available to the perpetrator. Our children expect us to protect them from monsters, so be alert. We are their heros and heroine's, especially if we listen to what they say.

Encourage children that threats are not going to be carried out, so that they will not be trying to protect a parent or someone they love by keeping a secret. Perpetrators are always intimidating children with their words, but most are cowards who only want their crime to go unreported.

If you suspect something, say something....don't overeact, but act on behalf of the child. How many at Penn State now wish they had done something for those boys, and have to live with their neglect for the rest of their lives.  How many are in prison now, because no one stepped up to protect them, or prevent it.

Fifteen years ago, the statistics for young boys was 1 in 10 being sexually assaulted, and now it's 1 in 6; whereas girls has been 1 in 4 for almost twenty years. As a former CJ instructor it's really my duty to inform people of things that I know need caution and watching. Those outside sports activities need more scrutiny from parents!

This scandal is now bringing attention to 'how terrible the moral decay' has become, especially in a society where so many fathers are absent from the home. Perpetrators like Sandusky find those without a male protector easy prey.

Second Mile should be closed down today, because of 'why' it was created. Another more reputable group of people should open a non profit to replace it, however, this administration has NOT protected the children who were a part of this organization. It's creepy. Sandusky resigning is not enough....

As writers we know.information is power. Thanks Christofer.
