High profile cases and attorneys are on the rise, because everyone wants their fifteen minutes of fame. The Yacht Captain for Wagner on the night Natalie Wood drowned now claims Wagner caused her death....OH REALLY?? That contradicts his testimony thirty years ago. However, the Captain has written a book that brings that night into question, it's been around a while, so 'why' now is the case reopened. Why? New evidence, true or false, will get a case reviewed, if substantial claims or evidence is found....or witnesses lied, etc.
Today I saw a clip of Natalie Wood saying her biggest fear was large bodies of dark water, and that is exactly where she died. The terrible death of a woman so young, and so talented was devastating for her family and fans. Now, after thirty years; the one person who knew something is coming forward, that does not make sense. If the Captain knew the truth then, why didn't he speak up?
People are willing to blind side families with new information, knowing the grief will be relived by those still living, who loved her. Why now? The book has been around a while, so did he keep quiet thirty years ago, so he could write a book? That does not seem right. Was he paid to keep quiet and the money ran out? The best i can discern is that maybe he felt some slight from Robert Wagner? There were people who thought Wagner had a part of the death back then, but it was ruled an accident. Hot news cycles brings them out of the woodwork!
What about the rest of the crew on that Yacht? The Captain isn't the only one running a Yacht that size, there had to be more than three people aboard, or was there?? Thirty years ago many people weren't paying attention to the tragedies of Hollywood, for there was always something going on. Tragedy has always followed those who play on the silver screen, and many have died young.
This year has resurrected two cold cases tied to Penn State, the missing DA, Ray Gricar, who investigated Sandusky, and the 1969 mysterious murder of Betsy Aardsma, who was stabbed in the library stacks at Penn State. Gricar's mysterious disappearance had similarities to Pamela West's paranormal account of the Aardsma tragedy. A book came out "Who Killed Betsy" by another author trying to solve the case, and pinpointing a dead pedophile at Penn State. Now isn't that irony? What was going on in those isolated library stacks, that would motivate someone to stab a gorgeous, intelligent woman studying.
This year end is shaping up to be the most scandalous "Holiday Vacation" in a long time. Hold onto your hats people, Santa may have to take a back seat to all the big time campus stories, that are sure to break in the next couple of weeks. Combine the new developments in the Natalie Wood and Ray Gricar's unsolved cold cases, and it may be the hottest December on record. And don't forget the hot headed Occupy protestors. Marshmellows anyone??

It must be awful for the families. I've often wondered why so many of us love crime stories. Time was when the world was happy with fictional ones, but not any more. I'm just as guilty as anybody; these stories fascinate me, but the media frenzy is just like a bunch of sharks, it's revolting. Please log in to respond to this comment.
