Who Is My Favorite Person? The List Is Endless and Exciting!

Who is my favorite person? Well, that could be anyone. Is it my favorite person in cowboy movies? That would be Tonto, who worked side by side with the Lone Ranger....he was faithful, and never resented being second billing. Tonto always gave his best, and honored the man he served. What a great sidekick to have; he could easily be my favorite person, or at least the character he played.
Who is my favorite person? Are you asking me who my favorite pastor, religious figure, or missionary is? I'd have to say that I have a very strict requirement here, because I've got deep beliefs. I'd have to say several people are tied here. Maybe my spiritual mother who taught me about prayer, or my sister in Christ; who showed me the practical side of christianity in living out my faith. Both taught me not to be concerned with people who criticize what they do not understand, and to forgive those who are consumed with their own agendas.
It could be Corrie ten Boom, who suffered in the concentration camps of brutal Nazi extremism, yet forgave the same guard who tortured her, at a christian meeting years later. Corrie took his hand after he introducted himself at a meeting, where she told of Christ's strength that had sustained her in the concentration camp, and she prayed for him as he had asked.
All this took place at the same meeting she told about her older sister, Betsy, and her father, who died in the concentration camps. Corrie ten Boom had been released due to a clerical "error", which she found out later, when she revisited Ravensbruck...where she found the fact that a week after her release, all the women her age had gone to the gas chamber. The error, a miracle that saved her.
She was spared to teach in 61 countries, after the war. Her family had been arrested for helping a Jewish mother and her baby in their home in Holland, then they were transported to East Germany. Those who truly serve Christ are persecuted in some form or other, and sadly it comes many times from other christians, or those who claim to be. We humans have a lot to learn, about what matters.
Who is my favorite person? In humor; a comedian, or comedians? Laughter is the best medicine, and I like a lot of comedians....what I find funny is not always what tickles another person, so I find a lot of strange things to laugh about. Life is too short not to laugh. Anyone who can make me laugh is one of my favorite people. At this time in our countries challenges, we all need to learn to laugh more. Life has a way of helping us find out how insignificant we really are, in the overall scheme of a bigger picture.

The way you handled this assignment shows you gave it some serious consideration. Even as I write this, I have a tough time thinking about this one. Please log in to respond to this comment.
