There Is A Stubbed Tail Cat, Who Keeps Us Guessing Where She Is Half The Time

We no longer have pets here in the condo, but there is one who lives down the road, and she used to show up at the strangest time wanting food. My husband is a softie where animals are concerned, and he will feed them the best thing he can find in the refrigerator, all they need do is ask.  People are always surprised at how quickly animals rush to get to know him, it must be something they can sense. Anyhow, the stubbed tail female drops by after Sunday dinner usually, but not this week. The construction lately has dampened all of our spirits.

In the Spring this cat had two kittens, and she was so happy keeping them down by the stream, and playing in the yard.   Everything was going great, then one of the neighbors run over one of them., it was heartbreaking. She could be heard moaning and crying all thoughout the day and night. Finally, this mama cat got some peace, and began focusing on the other kitten. Time went by, and she semmed to adjust to the loss. We felt terrible for her, so she ate well during that time of grief, and pacing through the parking lot with her pain.

Summer is over, and cold weather has come quickly, and we don't see much of her anymore. No doubt, the fact that our parking lot was the source of her greatest grief has darkened the joy she used to have, in wandering around here. The period directly after losing her kitten, there seemed to be some comfort in spending time with my husband, and the tidbits of meat he would find for her. So as time goes on, and healing completes it's purpose, by next Spring maybe we will see another round of kittens, playing down by the stream.  It's amazing who or what touches our lives, in those simple connections around us.
