Bullies In America Is "Modeling Behavior" At It's Worst!

Americans are the world's worst to hold up human beings, as examples to emulate, in light of our secular society full of actors, comedians, politicians, journalists, and sports figures. The money and prestige held by those in the television eye make them heroes, and role models to those of all ages, and especially the teens between 13-19. Many of those so-called role models are bullies, and present a lifestyle that is not acceptable to the preservation of a civilized society.

In my youth, it was soldiers, firefighters and police who were the real role models, and not the freaked out, the drugged, or immoral morons like some now seen in many movies, and on television. In fact, it was a parents job to discourage following in the footsteps of those 'on the evil side' of life. Today it is encouraged ,and sometimes it is hard to distinguish the parent from the teen, in dress, manners or language. Teens need a moral compass pointing to better behavior, and character. Good manners have lost their place, and need to be reclaimed.

Bullying is all over the news right now, as well as our schools, and the same media that condemned Sarah Palin's daughter so publicly, and with great cruelty is now condemning those students, and the school that caused that 15 year old from Ireland to commit suicide. There should NOT be bullying under any circumstances, in society, in the schools or in the media. Hypocrisy in journalism has become as common as lying, and distortion of the facts in the political arena is a runaway train. That needs to stop, and the sooner the better. It is an evil form of bullying, and is keeping many desirable candidates from running for office.

Americans should be interested in the policies, and plans of candidates, and not the "politics of personal destruction", which we have seen in past few years. Why are 'politicians, actors' and 'journalists' hailing the accomplishments of dictators like Castro and Chavez? It is being taught in our public schools, that these bullying leaders are heroes, and role models we should be emulating in our government. Is it no wonder our students are trying to imitate those who murdered and bullied their way into power. We need to be finding out what we are getting, and not listen to their criticizm of the opposition. What we really need to know is what that candidate is going to do for America, our town or our state.

Modeling behavior has the most influence on children, as we have seen in our criminal justice system. If we see this bullying on television, at home, in speeches and news reports on a daily basis, it is like a subconscious thing, and becomes part of our daily behavior. We are teaching teens to be cruel and violent toward those not conforming to their way of thinking, dressing or believing, in the halls of public education. That is why Hitler had the 'Hitler Youth' groups, because impressionable minds can be perverted to do the unthinkable....like murder in the name of their ideoloy. Isn't that what we see in the Jihad extremism, where they pray on children and impressionable young men/women to carry out their horrific suicide attacks? Where do we want to take this nation?

America stands at a crossroads in history....now, and at this very moment in time. We can allow the media to control the conversation in demonizing certain people and their children, or we can say "no more", by changing the channel when we hear it the first time, and that is NOT limited to any one person or party. WE are americans, and we can demand more civility by EVERYONE in every political party, every home, every school, and without exception. NOW is the time to make your voice heard, that bullying in every area of society must stop. Name calling, mud slinging (lies in media, or gossip) and cruelty is not going to solve any of our problems, and we will lose civility completely in the next generation, if we do not stop now.

We choose our future through our behavior, our example, and our restraint. It starts with you and me. We have the power of our remote, our school system, our home, our vote, and our voices. Let's demand truth, integrity and kindness of children and schools. In politics we need policies, plans and problem solving, but never character assasination. In the media we need facts, evidence and truth, but not opinions and deceptive, manipulative lies. To get the truth watch more than one side of the news, and read out of the country newspapers online. Money talks, and viewship is money, so know that you hold the key to America's success. Say "NO" to Bullies, wherever they are!

I have been traveling, so I apologize for such a late response.

I was surprised to see how your comments slanted toward communism, with approval of such barbaric behavior.

I believe the fact that Israel has shown such wonderful restraint, in the face of a madman like the Iranian leader is pause for thought.

It seems so many americans are not thankful for the blessings of living in such a great nation, with freedom and justice for all.

I'll leave your comment, although I find it quite disturbing, because in the USA we still had 'freedom of speech' last time I looked.
