Motives As To Why No Vote For Drilling Offshore & Anwar

WHY THE VOTE ON DRILLING OFFSHORE & ANWAR WAS STALLED

In past articles about drilling for oil, and the impact of extreme environmentalists, it was made clear that our problem with getting the oil in a reasonable timeline is the result of blocks by those who do not want us to drill. There are environmental lawsuits, tactics of withholding leases or stalling them, then there is the fact that the lawmakers who oppose drilling in the USA have a personal financial agenda. In fact, on yesterday's Fox News it was told that Pelosi made over $250,000. last year in her investment bet for higher oil prices. No wonder they needed to go on vacation, without resolving a lift of the moretorium on drilling offshore. How do you feel about the representatives making large sums of money, while you pay high prices for each gallon of gas?

There are better explanations of what it takes to get the oil out of the ground, and refined than I can give. There is an article that explains it at the website link provided for this article. This is not a partisan issue, it is an American issue. It doesn't matter what political party these people belong to, it is their greed that matters. If your family is struggling because of "speculators", and they have been claiming that is problem; along with the oil companies....that is hypocrisy! Now we need to know who else, other than Pelosi, is profiting from the "no drill" vacation. Let us call for these people to reveal their 2007 tax investments, so we can take a look at their motives.

Now, if the congress wanted to, those leases could be fast tracked; and with a contract of safety for the best technology used by Scandinavian countries who drill offshore from their countries. There is no environmental problems for them, so what is the real reason for opposition? We need to unite as a people, who really care for the poor and get them some relief at the pump. All of us want alternatives like solar, wind and fuel cell cars, however until those are mass produced there will be no relief. It will take hydrogen pumps at every gas station, and even natural gas for cars would require natural gas stations to be built; or pumps installed at every facility. That takes years, just what part of that timeline don't the representatives understand?

Oh, they get it, because it's their portfolios that are getting fat as long as we do not drill in ANWAR or offshore. The Saudi's and Dubai Sheiks are lowering prices so the USA will stop worrying about the gas crisis. Even Boone Pickens said on CNBC last week, that we needed to drill in ANWAR and OFFSHORE, while we push the wind, solar and alternatives needed to break the stranglehold on foreign oil. When he said "we can't drill our way out of this", what he said he meant was "it would not work as the only thing to do". We must pursue every option, all possible energy alternatives to stop the flow of wealth out of the United States, and into the hands of those who hate us.

Please let your congressman know that "we" are the people, and our interest should come first, and they should find another investment other than oil. To me that's a conflict of interest for Pelosi and others to bet on higher oil, when locking the doors and refusing to vote. Oil barrels are less this week, but for how long? They are betting it will go up again soon. The other speculaters are the OPEC kings, who pull their investments out when Americans have had enough UNTIL the next time. They hold the cards! However many young American families are on the verge of bankruptcy, or possibly losing a home. To me it is elitist to not care about their futures, while reaping huge market percentages as a speculator. Shouldn't it be against the law, for the people who control the power over resources, to be able to manipulate a vote that lines their pocketbook?

I applaud your article. The fact is the US population is living under a dictatorship right now. Nancy Pelosi, the dictator, is single handedly preventing a vote on drilling. You know the congress would approve the drilling, and so does Pelosi, if she allowed a vote- otherwise she would not work so hard to prevent the vote.

We need to change our government so no politician can block a vote.

Congress KNOWS that 80% of americans want the drilling. The congress refuses to allow it. That clearly means the United States of America, in the year 2008, is living under a dictatorship.

I applaud your article.
